Q. How do I know what paper stock I should print on?
A. We will often supply you with size and weight restrictions for each advertising vehicle, and a printed piece needs to fall within those guidelines. Paper weight is normally listed in these specifications. There are standard paper weights and formats for different advertising channels, and we would be happy to work through developing the ideal size and weight of the piece to fit the media vehicle you are advertising in.   top

A. The minimum paper stock for a BRC is 7 point stock. The minimum size for a postcard is 3.5” x 5.”   top

Q. What does 4 over 4 mean?
A. Full color (four colors, CMYK) printing on the front and back of the piece.   top

Q. Would it be more cost effective for me to just print in black and white, or print only on one side?
A. No, because of our ability to gang printing together for multiple clients, Echo Media can give you the benefits of 4 over 4 printing without a significant increase in cost.   top

Q. I have existing artwork, but it is a little too large and needs changes to the tracking code and phone number. Can Echo Media help by resizing the ad and changing some information?
A. Yes, we have an in-house graphics department that can resize artwork, strip in new codes and execute black plate changes, as long as the file is supplied in Mac Quark Xpress format.   top

Q. What elements do you need from the advertiser to get an accurate print quote?
A. In order to get an accurate print quote, we need the following information about the piece: trim size (bleed or non-bleed), image size, number of plates (4/4, 4/1, etc.), number of versions and shipping destinations. With this information we can usually turn a print quote around in 24 hours.   top

Q. Why do print rates for the same press run change from month to month or quarter to quarter?
A. Due to a constantly fluctuating paper market, print rates can fluctuate from month to month. Other variables, such as ink prices and shipping rates, can also cause a price variance, but on a much smaller scale.   top
